Sharing Parenting Responsibility
Mondays | January 4th - February 8th  | 6:00-8:00PM
This is a six-week course to help parents work together as partners to raise their children after a separation, divorce, break-up, or for parents who have never been married to each other. For both parents this means understanding new roles, responsibilities, and rights. Cooperative co-parenting can help reduce stress and conflict for both parents and especially for children. This educational class will help both parents develop the vital skills needed to create a “parenting plan” with their children’s best interest in mind. This plan is written during the course of the six weeks. Space is limited so registration is required. For more information or to register contact Alyson at (608) 784-8125.

PROGRAMS

Car Seat Safety Checks
Parents can have their child's car seat checked free of charge by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician here at Family Resources. A car seat check covers many areas including making sure the car seat is appropriate for your child, that it is installed correctly, and that the child is harnessed safely. Please allow 20-30 minutes per seat and have the child who uses the seat present. Appointments are preferred but drop-ins are also welcome as long as a technician is available. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Audra or Alyson at (608) 784-8125.

The Family Exchange Program offers a safe and nurturing place where parents can exchange their children for time with mom and/or dad. Family Exchange is available to any family with at least one parent living in La Crosse County. Program hours are 3:30-6:30PM. Before participating in the program each parent will complete an orientation and a 1½ hour workshop entitled, "Transferring: A business relationship for our child's heart!" Both parents will set up an appointment to participate in the Family Exchange Program. For more information call Alyson (608) 784-8125.
