All American Do-It Center in Tomah
INeed a gift for Mother's Day? Dads or significant
male figures and their children are invited to join us at All
American Do-It Center in Tomah (1201 N. Superior Ave.) to make a
gift for mom or the significant female figure in your life.

Teddy
Bear Picnic!
Monday,
May 23rd | 6-7:30PM
It's a night for "teddy bears" to dance and play "in
the woods" and then have a picnic! Join us for a night of fun
activities, dancing, and of course, a picnic! Don't forget to bring

Play Groups
Play Shoppe
Fridays | 10-11:30AM
Play Shoppe is a shared time for parents, and their
children to enjoy play, art activities, story time, and to spend
time with friends. Registration is not required.
Special days and field trip dates:
April 1st:
Foolish Friday Day! Dress as crazy as possible.
May 13th: Red, White, and Blue Day!
June 17th: Crazy Hat Day! Wear a crazy hat.
June 24th: Meet at Westside Park (unless it's raining).
Parent Connection
2nd and
4th Wednesday | 10-11:30AM
Parent Connection welcomes moms, dads,
grandparents, or other caregivers who are looking for a place to
unwind and share the joys and challenges of parenting with others.
Connect over coffee and conversation while toddlers and preschoolers
play in our supervised playroom. No need to register.

WorkshopsWorkshops
are offered free of charge. Pre-registration is required at least 3
business days prior to the workshop. Limited childcare is provided
for children (unless otherwise noted) who are independent walkers
and older; younger children are welcome to join their parents.
Childcare is limited to the first 8 children registered.
Registration deadline for childcare is seven days prior to the
workshop or the start of the first session.
Stewards Of Children: Prevent Sexual Abuse

This nationally acclaimed training is designed to educate adults to
prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
Highly recommended for all adults who work with children and youth -
including teachers, parents, volunteers, and other interested
adults.

Strategies To Avoid Power Struggles

Are you struggling with discipline, potty training, whining, biting,
or any other parenting issues? Come to this informative workshop to
connect and discuss with other parents who share your concerns and
can relate to your difficulties. Be ready to leave with tools that
will prepare you to handle your struggles.

Future Stars After School Mentoring
Program

This once a week after-school program will provide a
limited number of students with an opportunity to learn more about
volunteering and having fun! Help with crafts, become CPR certified,
assist with Fun Events and classes, attend optional educational
opportunities, and enjoy fun activities! Snack provided. For more

Teen Parenting and Pregnancy Support

Are you, or soon to be, a teen mother or father? Are
you trying to balance being a parent, school, and work? Join us and
discover ways to deal with the stress of pregnancy and parenting,
learn parenting tips, and much more. A snack is provided.
Parenting Classes On The Go!
Did you know that Family Resources can bring our
parenting classes to your work site or group? We can! Choose from
the following topics that are common challenges for all families:
Tips For Balancing Work and Family, Power Struggles - the Short
Lesson, Positive Parenting Techniques That Work, and How To Talk So
Your Kids Will Listen. Each class is an hour long, perfect for a
lunch time presentation. Please call at least 4 weeks ahead of time

Partners In Parenting
Are you a first time parent? Do you have questions
about babies? If you answered "yes" to either of the above
questions, the Partners In Parenting program is for you! Family
Resources would like to welcome you to the world of parenting with a
free book full of information about babies and resources in our area

Child Care Provider Trainings
Make A Difference In The Life Of A Child

Child Care Professionals who suspect that a child is
or will be harmed, are mandated reporters. Deciding to report child
abuse/neglect can be a difficult decision. Learn about when and how

SCAN-MRT Training
Monday, May 16th | 6-9PM | Training Fee: $25 (CEU's
included) | Location: Family Resources of Sparta (201 E. Franklin
St.)
Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Training, or
SCAN-MRT, is a program designed to teach mandated reporters how to
recognize and respond to suspected child maltreatment. This
interactive program emphasizes practical issues in response to abuse
and neglect. SCAN-MRT is the only mandated reporter training in the
state approved by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families.
The three-hour, YoungStar approved, training program includes
information about:
- Neglect, physcial abuse, sexual abuse, and
emotional damage
- Child abuse and neglect risk factors
- Reacting to disclosure of abuse
- Making a report of child abuse or neglect
- What happens when a report is made
- Preventing maltreatment
The training fee must be paid at the time of
registration and is non-refundable. Space is limited so register
