Shape: Hexagon/Rhombus
Color: Blue
Nursery Rhyme: Old Mother Hubbard
Song: Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Suggested Stories: The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Waiting for Wings by Lois Ehlert

MON TUE WED THU FRI
Play leap frog with stuffed animals. Go through a story book and find letters that are the same as the first letter in your child's name. Read the story. Make home made bubbles and blow them outside. Put water in the sensory pan and add blue food coloring. Snip colored paper strips into small pieces. Glue on edge of a paper plate to create a picture frame.
Name adult and baby animals (i.e. dog-puppy, cow-calf, goose-gosling, horse-colt, etc.). Draw a self-portrait. Say the nursery rhyme "Old Mother Hubbard." Count the blue things in your cupboard. Play a game outside (or inside if it is raining). Drive to the top of Grand Dad's Bluff. Draw a picture of what you see.
Watch a sunset. What colors do you see? Visit the library. Sign up for the summer reading program. Read a book (outside on a blanket if it is nice). Make a fruit salad. Use a plastic knife to cut the fruit. Find an ant hill and watch the ants.
Make a hexagon with 6 craft stickers or 6 pencils that are the same size. Say the nursery rhyme of the month and pretend to be a dog today. Visit the Visitor's Bureau at Riverside Park. Get ideas for summer activities or adventures. Go for a walk. Find 5 different kinds of leaves (on trees or plants). Visit a park. Bring a snack or a picnic lunch.
