Social Skills Checklist
For Your 4-Year Old Preschool Child

 

Following is a list of social skills which will help prepare your child for a successful kindergarten year. If your child is not currently practicing these skills you may want to provide opportunities in which the skills can be practiced.

My Child:

Is able to wait while I am on the phone.

Is able to sit down at the table and eat.

Is able to listen to a story for 10-15 minutes.

Is able to wait until others are finished talking, rather than interrupting.

Uses please and thank you when appropriate.

Is able to share toys and other materials.

Cleans up toys and materials when finished.

Is able to listen to others in a group.

Is able to have a conversation with one or two others.

Is able to follow simple directions.
