For Your 4-Year Old Preschool Child
| Following is a list of social
skills which will help prepare your child for a successful kindergarten
year. If your child is not currently practicing these skills you may
want to provide opportunities in which the skills can be practiced. |

Is able to sit down at the table and
eat.
|
Is able to listen to a story for 10-15
minutes.
|
Is able to wait until others are
finished talking, rather than interrupting.

Uses please and thank you when
appropriate.

Is able to share toys and other
materials.
|
Cleans up toys and materials when
finished.
|
Is able to listen to others in a group.
|
Is able to have a conversation with one
or two others.
|
Is able to follow simple directions.
