Volunteering At
Family
Resources
Family Resources is a non-profit organization that offers parent education
and support. Families and caregivers of young children are supported,
nurtured, strengthened and encouraged as they journey through parenthood
and the joys and challenges of caring for a child. We offer play groups,
support groups, classes, workshops and much more.
Volunteers are a vital part of our mission. We have a wonderful and
supportive environment to learn and grow both personally and
professionally. Many students come back year after year! There are many
opportunities for volunteers, whether you want to volunteer just one time
or for the whole year. We also have many unpaid internships available in
the Fall, Spring and Summer. Some of the opportunities we have include:

Play Shoppe and Parent Connection
Do
you enjoy playing with children? What a wonderful way to spend a morning
and volunteer at the same time! We need volunteers that are able to come
in a half an hour early to help set up and stay afterwards to help put
everything away. If you are only available for part of the time, that
is ok too—just let us know. Our groups meet from 9:30 - 11:00 AM Tuesday
through Friday. We have one Play Shoppe in Bangor, two in La Crosse and
one in the Holmen/Onalaska area. Volunteers can catch a ride with our
parent educator.

Workshops and Classes
If you enjoy caring for children and
having a great time, this is for you! We need volunteers to help with
childcare while the children’s parents attend the workshops and classes.

Receptionist
Are you a people person? Do
you enjoy answering phones and meeting new people? We’re always looking
for people to volunteer at our front desk. We are looking for someone
who would like to commit to at least 2 hours per week.

Clerical
Whether you enjoy typing,
putting together pamphlets or any other miscellaneous task, we can
always use help. Put you skill to use!! In the past volunteers have
job-shadowed in Administration and our Parent Education
departments. Students get a chance to see what our world is all about,
and we get help with projects and reporting.

Toy Cleaning
We offer a toy lending
library plus a children’s room full of fun toys to play with. Volunteers
who help us clean our toys are always very much appreciated. Hours can
be very flexible.
