SCAN/MRT Training and Strengthening Families Protective Factors
October 9th | 8:30AM-2:30PM | Family Resources, 1500 Green Bay St., La Crosse
Cost is $20 with lunch included. Registration is required.

Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Training, or SCAN-MRT is an interactive training program that includes information about: the prevalence of maltreatment; neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse and emotional damage; common abbreviations; child abuse and neglect risk factors; reacting to disclosure of abuse; making a report of child abuse or neglect; what happens when a report is made; and preventing maltreatment.

Strengthening Families is based on five protective factors that strengthen families and protect children: social emotional competence of children; knowledge of child development and parenting; concrete support in times of need; social connections; and parent resilience. Learn how you can help build these protective factors in the families you work with.

Ages & Stages II: Social Emotional

October 27th | 5:30-8:30PM | Family Resources, 1500 Green Bay St., La Crosse
Pre-requisite: Must have attended Ages & Stages I.

Participants will explore best practices for developmental screening and learn how to use one of the most highly recommended developmental screening tools available today, the Ages & Stages Questionnaires, 3rd Edition (ASQ-3). This easy-to administer, inexpensive, and parent-friendly questionnaire is designed for children 1 month to 5.3 years. Learn how to administer, score, and interpret the ASQ-3 to share with families.
